Long planes in short hangars!Fuselage doors are the ideal solution where aircraft are too long for a hangar, and allow work to be carried out on the outside, or inside of an aircraft without using full hangar space. They are shown here fitted to Esavian Type 126 sliding hangar doors on Ryanair's new hangar at Stansted Airport. Jewers will be installing more Esavian doors to Ryanair's 2nd hangar at Prestwick Airport later in 2010.
| LATEST NEWSJune 2010 – Liverpool depot doorsThe new Edge Hill Maintenance Depot, Liverpool has been opened officially. Jewers Doors supplied Phoenix Swift bifold doors 4.5m wide by 6.0m high. They have earth bonded cut outs at the top of one of the centre panels for the overhead power cables. Because the doors have no bottom track they are ideal for train depots as the doors and trains rails do not interfere. Swift Bifold doors are fitted with a full set of safety features.
Sept 2009 - Dubai Civil DefenceJewers Doors recently supplied a further 6 sets of power operated Phoenix Osprey folding doors to Al Manara & TECOM Civil Defence Stations in Dubai. Working with local reseller, Lakshmi Metal, these are the 4th and 5th stations to be completed.
December 2009 – Jewers Doors in ChinaJewers' partner in China, Shenyang Baotong Door Co. has supplied and installed doors for two new hangars at Shanghai Pudong Airport in China with design input from Jewers Doors. The China Eastern hangar is unusual in having doors that are fully double-glazed – in total the hangar door measures 154 metres by 21 metres. The adjacent Boeing Shanghai hangar has half-glazed hangar doors 162 metres long by 22 metres high. Both sets of doors utilize design features from Esavian Type 126 doors.
