Jewers Doors Ltd manufacture a range of specialist use sliding doors. Jewers

Phoenix Kingfisher
Designed for use in helicopter/aircraft hangars, spray booths, multi-vehicle
entrance bays, storage and warehouse entrances, bus stations and train depots.
Complementing the Swift and Osprey ranges (see clause 530), the Kingfisher is an
insulated straight sliding door. Available in unrestricted configurations -
suitable for openings up to 6 metres in height, but with no width limitations.
Multi-leaf formation allows sections of the door to be opened when full width
access is not required, thereby reducing opening time, effort and heat loss.
Individual leaves up to a maximum of 4.5 metres wide, with permutations of
leaves running on single or multiple tracks.
Insulated and fully weathersealed to minimise heat loss.
Power activation is available for both single and multi-leaf doors, whilst a
choice of safety and control options ensure quick and convenient opening and
closing.

Arrangement:
Single leaf top hung / Single leaf bottom rolling
Multi-leaf top hung / Multi-leaf bottom rolling
Opening size: Unlimited width and up to 6 metres high. Maximum
size 120m² for top hung and 180m² for bottom rolling. Consult with Jewers Doors
for maximum opening sizes for each configuration.
Track system:
Top hung:
Top track – 5mm thick pressed steel ‘C’ section for direct sidewall or
soffit mounting. Each leaf to be fitted with a pair of pendent hangers, each
with 72mm sealed bearing wheel, two 40mm side thrust sealed bearing wheels and
20mm toughened steel shaft, fully vertically adjustable.
Bottom guide channel – 3mm thick galvanised steel pressing with built-in
threshold and chamfered edges. Each leaf to be fitted with a pair of bottom
guides of 35mm nylon rollers on 16mm stainless steel shafts.
Bottom rolling:
Bottom track – 16mm wide bright mild steel bar mounted on steel fishplates
to be directly into the floor chase. Each leaf to be fitted with a pair of 120mm
machined hardened steel rollers mounted in heavy-duty wheel boxes and fitted
with sealed for life, maintenance free bearings. Heavy-duty buffer stops to be
fitted at the end of the bottom tracks.
Top guide track – 50 x 50 x 3mm galvanised lipped channel (for openings up to
10m wide). Each leaf to be fitted with a pair of 42mm nylon guide wheels running
on 16mm stainless steel shaft fitted directly to the top angle. End stops to be
fitted within the top tracks.

80 x 60mm or 100 x 65mm steel angles top and bottom to carry running gear.
Panel construction:
Cold rolled galvanised channel frame, with local reinforcement for hardware and
covered both sides with galvanised steel sheets. The panel to be injected with
CFC free expanded polyurethane insulation during the manufacturing process.

Esavian Type 126
Comprising the largest door in the Esavian range (max. height 35 metres,
width unlimited) the 126 is not only the most popular and cost-effective form of
hangar door, but is designed for use in covered shipbuilding facilities, heavy
fabrication shops and other large industrial applications.
The steel-framed construction of these bottom-rolling doors accepts any
conventional cladding system to suit widely varying architectural preferences.

Bottom track:
Each leaf fitted with two double-flanged steel track wheels, running on tapered
roller bearings, on single or parallel runs of flat bottom rail bottom track,
mounted on transverse bearers.
Top track:
Each leaf fitted with minimum of two cylindrical top rollers, (4 rollers onto an
articulated top beam on wider leaves), running on Universal ‘I’ beam top guide
tracks, suspended from the roof structure.

To be designed in accordance with British Standards relating to the design of
steel structures, with all structural members fabricated from standard hot
rolled steel sections. Cladding rails typically comprise cold rolled steel
sections, fully shop fabricated ready for site assembly.

Individual leaves to be fitted with a drive unit, driving a single bottom wheel.
Leaves to be free to move anywhere along the clear length of track.
Cable sheaving system:
The Master leaf (leading leaf of a group) to be fitted with one or two drive
units, driving the bottom wheel(s). The Slave leaves (trailing leaves) to be
controlled by the Master Leaf. Each leaf to run on a separate track and be
linked to the adjacent leaf by the cable sheaving system, fitted onto the
internal face of the door at high level.
Drive units:
Drive units to comprise a brake motor, driving a bottom wheel through a gearbox,
disengaging clutch and chain drive. Drive units to be fitted within the
thickness of the door leaf and fully enclosed behind a hinged access panel.
Control:
Push button control, with automatic stopped in the open or closed positions by
inductive proximity sensors.
Power supply: 415 volts 3 phase 50Hz.
Handwind operation:

Esavian Type 127
A mid-range bottom rolling, sliding door utilises tough, insulated panels to
provide modular, visually appealing leaves.
With a maximum height of 12 metres and unlimited width, the 127 is designed for
smaller aircraft hangars or larger vehicle openings.

Acoustic Door
A sound engineered solution designed for use in all situations where noise
suppression is a critical factor. Available in bifolding, sliding folding,
horizontal sliding, vertical lift or side hinged configurations, the Acoustic
door (from personnel access up to aircraft hangar size) feature The Jewers’
Acoustic Matrix System that reduces noise between 27 and 48 dB.

Blast Resistant Door
A range of doors designed to minimise explosive risks, utilising the latest
knowledge and cutting edge of technology.
Specifically designed to cope with explosive or volatile chemical eruptions, the
doors can be made to resist shock pressures between 10 and 10,000kN/m² (1.5 to

Warrior Security Door
The Warrior sliding security door is designed to withstand terrorist or
vandal attacks using large jemmies, high speed disc saws, oxyacetylene torches
or ‘hooligan bars’.
The doors are SEAP Class 3 approved for UK Government use.
Warrior Sliding Doors can be provided for openings of unlimited width and
height.
