Jewers Doors Ltd manufacture a range of specialist use sliding doors. Jewers

Phoenix Swift
Ideally suited for use in fire and ambulance stations, water and sewage
treatment plants, train maintenance sheds, vehicle workshops, loading docks and
all other industrial applications.
Swift doors can be power operated (opening in under 7 seconds) using an
electro-hydraulic drive system, available with a choice of safety and control
options. Manual operation is effortless – one person can fully open or
close a 24m² door in less than 10 seconds.
Door thickness: 52 mm.
U-value of door: 0.7W/m²/deg.C.
Weight: 18-20 kg/m².
Doors are side hung, with no bottom channel and all versions fold behind the
opening, requiring minimal side and headroom. 180 mm sideroom and 150 mm
headroom for both manual and power operated versions.
Fully weathersealed for low heat and very low air loss, and incorporating full
height finger-nip protection between the leaves for user safety.

Manual operation:
Side hung bi-parting door available with any combination of 1, 2 or 3 leaves
folding to one or both sides. 7 configurations available: 2+0, 2+1, 3+0,
3+1, 2+2, 3+2 or 3+3. leaves.
Maximum width: 5700 mm – 3+3 configuration.
Maximum height: 6000 mm. – 2+2 configuration.

Furniture and locking: Low-level floor bolt and aluminium pull handle fitted
internally to each leaf as standard. Passive leaves to 3+1 and 3+3
configurations filled with full height espagnolette bolt. No external
furniture.

Surface mounted floor or full height espagnolette bolts with integral pull
handle at apex joints.
Floor Shoe: 2+2 leaf doors can be fitted with a floor shoe at the centre
of the opening instead of drop bolts, so that leaves automatically engage when
closed and prevent forced entry.
Odd leaf (either single leaf in 2+1, or third leaf in 3+2, etc) to be used as
full height personnel door. Fitted with mortice sashlock, pair of black Hewi
lever handles and external cylinder.
Electric operation:
Side hung fast acting bi-folding door available with 2 leaves folding to one
or both sides.

Power Operation: FAAC 560 electro-hydraulic drive unit is mounted at high level
on each pair of leaves. Telescopic drive arm fitted between operator and jamb.

High-level hydraulic lock within operator holds door securely in open or closed
positions. Manual release screw on drive body enables manual operation.
Drive units fitted with built-in anti-crush device to prevent accidental
crushing during closing. Aluminium pull handle fitted to each leaf as standard.

hardware is anodised aluminium / zinc plated as standard. Aluminium trims are
mill finished.

Wicket Door:
Outward opening with mortice sashlock, low-profile lever furniture and
external cylinder. 1½ pairs stainless steel hinges and with hidden overhead door
stay.

Vision Panels:
Acrylic - 680 x 390 mm double glazed toughened acrylic in black plastic security
frame with square corners.
Toughend Glass – 680 x 500 mm double glazed toughened glass in black aluminium
frame with 60 mm radiused corners.
Both can be mounted horizontally or vertically, depending on panel width.
Maximum 2 vision panels per leaf.
Sub-Frame:
Door must be fixed to a flush steel goalpost frame - not included as standard.
Face fixed - 125 x 75 x 8 mm steel angle goalpost frame for fixing to the back
of a brick or blockwork opening. Prime finished.
Between walls - 200 x 100 x 5 mm steel box section frame for fixing between
brick or blockwork opening. Prime finished.
Optional finish – full polyurethane paint finish to match door colour.
Top track and guide rollers:
Top guide track: 50 x 50 x 3 mm galvanised channel mounted with adjustable
steel brackets.
Top guide rollers: 42 mm diameter nylon guide wheels running on 16 mm diameter
stainless steel shafts mounted in anodised aluminium fittings.
Threshold:
A 120 x 10 mm full width galvanised steel threshold plate is fitted to the floor
on external doors to prevent water ingress and to protect bottom seals during.
Both edges can be chamfered as an option. A bottom channel is not
required.
Seals:
EPDM rubber seals are fitted at threshold, jambs and all joints between
leaves. A brush seal is fitted at the head. All vertical joints provide full
finger trap protection and the overall door is fully weather sealed. 35mm
brush seals to be fitted at the floor when threshold not required.
Hinges:
The door weight is carried at the jambs, on purpose designed hinges, which
offer both sideways and vertical adjustment of leaves. Apex hinges are extruded
anodised aluminium fittings with 16 mm diameter stainless pins. Bottom apex
hinges allow vertical adjustment of leaves. All hinges have self-lubricating
Igus bushes.

Phoenix Osprey
Designed for helicopter/aircraft hangars, spray booths, multi-vehicle
entrance bays, large goods/vehicle bays and workshops, the Osprey multi-leaf
folding door is fully insulated and specially suited for larger span openings.
Available in a variety of configurations to accommodate openings of unlimited
width and up to 6 metres in height (or more by special design).
Multi-leaf construction allows the door to be partially opened when full
aperture access is not required.
Manual doors can fold within or completely clear of the opening, requiring
minimal side and headroom.

Power mullion:
Each power mullion to comprise a vertical fabricated box assembly to house the
drive motor and electrical equipment. The bottom of each power mullion to be
fitted with two track wheels, with four guide rollers fitted to the top. The
doors to be driven by rotation of the winch drums engaging with a static steel
cable within the floor track.
Control:
Control panel for each drive unit to be mounted within the power mullion.
Standard equipment to include a secondary low voltage control circuit, an
audible alarm incorporating a time delay and a terminal for push buttons and
limit switches.
Control panels to be fitted with an inverter-controlled, variable speed drive
system. Braking to be controlled by the inverter and its brake resistor.
Mechanical brake to be applied only when door is at rest.

Esavian Type 1200
An all-aluminium construction, bottom rolling, folding door with a long
track record of durability in aircraft and helicopter hangars, even in the
harshest climates.
Suiting openings from 8 metres up to 18 metres high and unlimited width, the
1200 is at an advantage in situations where door stacking space is at a premium.
Doors may be either ‘fixed’, where the group of leaves is fixed to a jamb post
at one end and a power mullion fitted to the other, or ‘fully floating’, where
both ends of the group of leaves is fitted with a power mullion allowing the
whole group to move anywhere along the length of the track.

Folding door leaves to be framed from extruded aluminium sections welded
together and clad on both faces with 1.2mm thick, shallow profiled aluminium
sheets, secured to the frame with rivets and sealed with pins. The panel cavity
to be packed with 50mm thick polyurethane slabs.
Pairs of folding door leaves to be hinged together and to sliding posts and
power mullions with cast aluminium hinges. Hinges to be fitted with Oilite
bushes and plated steel pins. The lowest hinge at each joint to be fitted with a
loadbearing thrust race.
Sliding posts:
Heavy duty extruded aluminium anchor shaped sections, each fitted at the bottom
with a load carrying EN8 steel bottom roller and at the top with zinc-plated
guide rollers.
Fixed end posts:
Heavy duty extruded aluminium half-anchor shaped sections, fixed to steel jamb
posts supplied by others.
Weatherseals:
All vertical joints between leaves, sliding posts and power mullions to be
fitted with twin EPDM draught excluders.
Nylon brush seals, retained in aluminium extrusions to be fitted at the head and
floor.
At the meeting point between pairs of power mullions, large wrap round EPDM butt
seals set in aluminium extrusions to be fitted.

Power mullions:
Each power mullion to comprise a fabricated aluminium box assembly, clad to
match the door leaves, to house the drive motor with electromagnetic brake,
which drives a winch drum through a heavy duty gearbox. The doors to be driven
by rotation of the winch drums engaging with a static steel cable within the
floor track and at high level.
Control:
Push button control panels to be mounted on the internal and external faces of
each power mullion, with the electrical control equipment housed within a panel
inside the power mullion.
Solid state limit switches to be fitted at low level inside the mullions to
automatically stop the door in the fully open or fully closed positions.
Access to the drive unit and electrical equipment to be through a large access
door on the rear face of the power module.
Standard equipment to include an audible alarm to sound for a short period
before the door begins to move. Flashing beacons may also be fitted.
The leading edge of each power mullion to be fitted with a full height pneumatic
safety edge. Impact on the safety edge to prevent the door from being restarted
for a specified period of time.

Acoustic Door
A sound engineered solution designed for use in all situations where noise
suppression is a critical factor. Available in bifolding, sliding folding,
horizontal sliding, vertical lift or side hinged configurations, the Acoustic
door (from personnel access up to aircraft hangar size) feature The Jewers’
Acoustic Matrix System that reduces noise between 27 and 48 dB.

Samurai Security Door
The Samurai sliding folding security door is designed to withstand terrorist
or vandal attacks using large jemmies, high speed disc saws, oxyacetylene
torches or ‘hooligan bars’.
The doors are SEAP Class 3 approved for UK Government use.
